Pioneering energy systems optimized for long-haul routes crossing northern Germany.
As the third-largest port in Europe, the city of Hamburg serves as the primary gateway for international trade in Germany. Its complex network of freeways (Autobahnen A1, A7, A23, and A24) registers thousands of heavy-duty freight trucks daily. However, the environmental burden has pushed the European Union and the Hamburg local authority (Behörde für Umwelt, Klima, Energie und Agrarwirtschaft) to enforce stringent clean air actions.
A key focus area is the elimination of greenhouse gas emissions generated by diesel-powered Auxiliary Power Units (APUs) and engine idling. Traditionally, heavy-duty truck drivers resting at parking lots along Hamburg highways leave their diesel engines running overnight to power heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This practice is increasingly prohibited by European anti-idling regulations, German road traffic laws (StVO § 30), and municipal environmental mandates.
Under Germany's revised truck toll structure (Lkw-Maut), which calculates fees based on CO2 emissions classes, logistics companies are highly motivated to minimize fleet carbon footprint. Eliminating auxiliary engine idling is one of the most cost-effective methods to achieve immediate emissions reduction. Fleet operators operating near the Port of Hamburg (HHLA terminals) are rapidly transitioning to pure battery-electric parking air conditioning (AC) systems. This shift creates a critical demand for ultra-reliable, high-temperature-tolerant, and long-cycle Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery packs designed for deep discharging and rapid recharging cycles.
Our engineering framework addresses the core pain points of heavy transport: extreme vibration, temperature fluctuations, and continuous high-current discharge.
Compared to legacy Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery systems commonly used in heavy-duty trucks, Elite Power's LiFePO4 cells yield a 3x increase in volumetric energy density and a 10x lifecycle improvement. While NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) chemistries present safety concerns due to a thermal runaway threshold of approximately 210°C, LiFePO4 remains highly stable up to 270°C. This stability makes it safe for under-cabin or external chassis mounting configurations in heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
The core of our battery packs is a proprietary, dual-core BMS that communicates with the truck's central engine control unit (ECU) via standard J1939 CAN-bus protocols. This allows fleet dispatchers in Hamburg to monitor the State of Charge (SoC) and State of Health (SoH) of individual auxiliary battery packs in real-time, preventing unexpected roadside callouts. Key features of the BMS include:
Truck auxiliary batteries must withstand severe shock and mechanical stress. Our structures are constructed using high-strength aluminum casings filled with shock-absorbing polyurethane potting compounds. Tested to comply with ISO 16750-3 standards, these packs are optimized to resist vertical and horizontal vibrations typical of long-distance Autobahn routes.
Elite Power, as a primary subsidiary of GRACE DEVELOPERS CO., LIMITED, coordinates research, development, and manufacturing across key Chinese industrial hubs: Shenzhen, Dongguan, and Hong Kong. This strategic geographic distribution ensures deep integration with the global lithium-ion supply chain, providing clients in Germany with reliable pricing, quality controls, and scheduling certainty.
Our Dongguan facility uses automated laser welding, high-precision capacity grading, and environmental chamber test chambers to eliminate cell variation.
Certified to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015. Every single truck battery cell undergoes rigorous testing before container shipping to Germany.
Using the China-Europe Railway Express (terminating directly at Hamburg’s Billwerder DUSS terminal), we guarantee a stable overland supply route bypassing maritime bottlenecks.
By controlling the supply chain from raw cell acquisition to final BMS programming, Elite Power avoids the delays common to third-party integrators. This ensures that customized batch orders for Hamburg transport companies are fulfilled with consistent reliability.
